The Best Venues for Summer Concerts in Denver

The music scene in Denver rises to a whole new level once warmer temps arrive. Patios come alive with live music, art walks champion the latest local jams, and outdoor concerts are in full swing. Denver has many incredible outdoor venues to get your music fix for this summer. There's nothing like a beautiful summer evening with a breeze and fantastic tunes, so check out our favorite spots where you can listen to the soundtrack of summer.

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

18300 W Alameda Pkwy, Morrison, CO 80465

This Denver list would only be complete by mentioning one of the most infamous outdoor theaters in the country, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison. The jaw-dropping scenery, expansive city views, and front range make it a marvel in itself, even without your favorite band playing. Once the music starts, your ears will be charmed by the unrivaled natural acoustics of the famous monoliths of the amphitheatre, Ship Rock to the south and Creation Rock to the north. Some of the biggest names in music have played here, with many artists claiming Red Rocks as their favorite venue to perform. Attending a concert here is a once and a lifetime experience and draws folks from across the country, so don't hesitate to take advantage of one of the world's greatest venues right in our backyard.

Denver Botanic Gardens

1007 York St, Denver, CO 80206

The Denver Botanic Gardens, in the Cheesman Park neighborhood is arguably the most intimate and enchanting settings for summer concerts in Denver. They offer two types of musical events, their standard summer concert series and Evenings al Fresco. Evenings al Fresco is a less formal evening where you can stroll to hear music from talented local musicians and small ensembles. The Denver Botanic Gardens summer concert series features ten concerts throughout June, July, and August. With a rockstar lineup, shows reach capacity, so if you plan on attending, arrive early with your concert blanket and picnic basket to claim the best spot on the grassy hill overlooking the stage. While many outdoor venues allow outside food, Denver Botanic Gardens is one of the only ones to allow outside alcohol. Enjoy your bottle of wine as you take in a show among the blooms and greenery of the gardens. Corcoran Perry & Co. has been proud to sponsor the Denver Botanic Gardens Summer Concert Series for over 20 years.

Hudson Gardens - no concerts this year

6115 S Santa Fe Dr, Littleton, CO 80120

Denver's music scene is vibrant, so take advantage of the metro area's incredible tunes and 300 days of sunshine in any of these fantastic outdoor venues. When attending an outdoor concert, several venues have specific rules regarding alcohol and eating options, so visit the website to confirm what you can bring. In your outdoor concert kit, we recommend:

  • outdoor blankets

  • camping chairs

  • bug spray

  • sunglasses

  • a sweater for when the sun sets

  • lite bites

  • drinks.

Remember to pin the location of where you parked your car! Once the concert ends, navigating through the crowds to find your car can be challenging. Denver offers excellent public transportation and bike paths, so it's worth considering alternative transportation to avoid a parking fiasco.
