When it was announced a few weeks back that a movie theater was coming to the Sloan's Lake area it caused quite a stir and was the buzz of Facebook. As of now, the plans are for this 8 screen theater to be built on the site of the former St. Anthony's Hospital and anchor the redevelopment that will eventually include a mix of commercial and residential.
Alamo Drafthouse Theater can be found across the country with a location in Littleton. They are unique in that they offer a full-service food menu as well as serve beer, wine and cocktails. As you can tell, this is going to completely transform the neighborhood from Colfax to 17th and Sheridan to Lowell. There has been a lot of controversy over the size of the development going in but I think anything is better than what is there now and it will certainly transform the neighborhoods around there that have struggled in years past.
