How can I search for Green Homes in Denver?

How can Isearch for Green Homes or homes with Green Features in Denver? Beforeyesterday, it was pretty tough. But luckily, Metrolist, the largest real estate multiple listing service (MLS)serving Colorado real estate agents finally introduced a way to searchfor green and energy efficient attributes in Denver homes.

What does this mean for home buyers and sellers? A lotactually. It means that green attributes will finally be searchable and as aresult, have a direct impact on the value of homes with these features. Foryears in now in California, Oregon and Washington these search attributes havebeen available and these states have been able to track directly how much valueeach green feature adds to a home. Right now in Denver we can estimate a value, but without solid evidence to back it up, it can be tough to justify the higherprice. So obviously this will give home owners an extra incentive to make thosegreen updates to not only help the environment but to potentially see a greaterreturn when they sell as well.

The Green features you can search for now are still somewhatlimited. They include solar and any green designations the home has. But it isa start and hopefully we can expand from here. It may be awhile before public searchengines allow you to search for these features so in the meantime, if there isanything in particular you are looking for, just let me know.
