Where in Denver can I get rid of all the leaves from my yard?

Help! With fall in full effect, and leaves shin deep in my yard, where can I get rid of all these leaves here in Denver? While the changing leaves sure are beautiful and give brand new colors to our city, once they fall, they sure can be a pain. If you can't use them as compost in your yard, then why not give them to the city who can. Now through December 3rd, the cities LeafDrop program will have open drop off sites for you to dispose of your leaves properly and help the environment at the same time. For a full list of drop off sites, click here.

Saturday Drop off Locations:

November 6th and 13th, Noon to 4 pm. Denver Solid Waste Transfer Station, 7301 E Jewell. Ave

Sunday Drop off Locations:

November 7th and 14th, 10 am to 3 pm. Denver Solid Waste Transfer Station, Sloan's Lake Park, John F Kennedy High School, Cranmer Park, South High School and Smiley Middle School.

Weekday Drop off locations:

Havana Nursery, 10450 Smith Road and Denver Solid Waste Transfer Station.

As a reminder, this service is for

  • Denver residents only.
  • Never sweep leaves into the street. This clogs up storm sewers and street sweeper vehicles.
  • Make sure your leaves do not contain branches or other wastes.
  • Do not drop leaves at these sites except during the times and dates specified above. Doing so is considered public dumping.
