Today marks the 50th Anniversary of the first EarthDay, making this the 51st Earth Day. It was first celebrated in1970 and is now celebrated by more than 193 countries around theworld. Typically groups gather to participate in events for theholiday. This year, everythingis just a little different butwe still want to find ways to focus on celebrating theenvironment.
Our Earth Day tradition is typically celebrated by gathering ona weekend with our staff, agents and clients. This year we wereplanning to hold a paint recycling event. In the current climate,we've made the decision to move that event to a later date sothat we can enjoy the event as a team. Keep your eyes out for moreinformation about our event with Green Sheen.
Though we've had to move our event, we stillwant to honor our planet. There are so many ways you can do that inyour home and your neighborhood. From simply enjoying time outsideto working in your garden, here are a fewthings you could dotoday:
- Pick up trash in your neighborhood or favorite park
- Plant a tree
- Make a donation to your favorite Green organization
- Start composting
- Start collecting rainwater for plants, and/or gray water.
- Start recycling
- Teach your children about conservation
- Make an Earth Day Pledge:https://www.earthday.org/earth-day-2020/
