Perry & Co. is known in international real estatecircles (most notably Leading Real Estate Companies of theWorld, Relocation DirectorsCouncil and Luxury PortfolioInternational) for the annual motivationalwristbands they put out every year. At the beginning ofeach new year, Perry & Co. CEO Jon Larrance gauges theprevailing sentiment Realtors will need to be mindful of in thecoming real estate market. That one thought becomes the key ideafor the upcoming wristband. Perry & Co. staff and Realtorsdistribute the wristbands throughout the year at various realestate conferences, company parties, and person to person. Not onlydo they provide motivation to Realtors they also give wearersinspiration regardless of their career paths and/or exercisegoals.
Over the years, our wristbands havebecome collectors items for Realtors, relocation professionals, andour clients. Heres a look back on past Perry & Co.wristbands:
Stay Positive - 2010- (Perry & Co. Red) Things were bleak in the 2010 realestate market as the great recession was still upon us. After threeyears in a down market, associations were seeing scores of Realtorsleaving the business. The dedicated Realtors who remained struggledto adjust their efforts towards lower price points, short sales, foreclosures and investor clients. In 2009, Jon stood up in aconference room of 500 members of Whos Who In Luxury Real Estate andquoted Sir Winston Churchill, If youre going through hell, keepgoing. It was difficult to make a living as a Realtor in theyears 2007 to 2010. As such, most surviving career Realtors werefeeling down emotionally. But there was light at the end of thetunnel
Start Today - 2011 -(White) In 2011, you could sense that the recession inDenver, and the nation, was finally nearing its end. It was timefor Realtors to put their skills back into action. LeadingRE AnnualConference attendees would hear Matthew Ferrarasay on the final day that the Perry & Co. Start Today wristbandwas the most important takeaway of conference week. The time wasright for Realtors to take any new ideas learned at the 2011conference and set them into motion immediately in order to bestcapitalize on the returning market.
Push Yourself - 2012- (Perry & Co. Gray) With the market gaining somemomentum, 2012 was the year for Realtors to work as hard aspossible to make up for lost time and lost earnings. Buyers, inparticular, were finally getting off the fence and ready put theirfaith back in the real estate market and back in their trustedadvisor - the Realtor.
Keep Moving - 2013 -(Luxury Portfolio Blue) Consumer confidence was on theupswing, but the economy still felt tenuous to most Realtors. However, it was clear that the renewed efforts of Realtors werepaying off. 2013 was the time to stay the course. Keep Moving wasalso a call out to consumers not to let mixed reports in the mediastop them from moving into the home of their dreams.
You First - 2014 -(LeadingRE Blue) By the time 2014 rolled around the stressof being a full-time Realtor in the ever changing legislativeenvironment was taking its toll. Think Dodd-Frank and a 16 pageColorado real estate contract. Frankly, Realtors were putting theirclients needs first (as always) but in the process had forgotten totake care of themselves. In fact, most hard working Americans hadforgotten to take care of themselves. In this new environment, homebuyers and sellers were relying on their Realtor like never beforeto help them safely navigate the transaction of real property.
Stay Focused - 2015 -(Perry & Co. Orange) With the real estate marketstabilizing, Realtors were confronted with an overwhelming numberof distractions in their industry and in their lives - LowInventory, Smartphones, Appraisers, Apps, Non-Realtor Licensees,AVMs, Zillow, Trulia, etc. To succeed in 2015, real estateprofessionals need to Stay Focused on the things they do well andthe things they can control. Foremost is the client relationship aswell as the individual specifics of each transaction. For Realtors, this means occasionally turning off their phones and being presentin the moment with clients, family or friends.
Give More - 2016 -(Light Gray) According to most news journals, Denver isquickly becoming the nations most sought after lifestyledestination. Metro Denver home prices have continued double-digitincreases for the past three years and as a result real estateprofessionals spend more and more time giving to their clients(giving advice, market knowledge, price opinions, etc). The beautyof giving is that, As you give more and more, you have more togive. says Ralph Marston, publisher of The DailyMotivator. Research also shows that the more you give, themore you receive. To that end, it seems that giving more is awin-win for the whole world.
Grateful - 2017 -(Glow-In-The-Dark Green) The idea behind theglow-in-the-dark color of our 2017 wristband is that GratitudeShould Never Sleep. Night and day we are reminded that the Denvereconomy has been strong for the last several years and for that weare truly grateful. Weve seen a lot of encouraging changes sincethe Great Recession, since our first year wristbands Stay Positivemessage. We have a lot to be grateful for including our clients, our industry partners, and just plain grateful for every day thesun rises. Additionally, this particular shade of green is the 2017Pantone Color of the Year - A life-affirming shade, Greenery isemblematic of the pursuit of personal passions andvitality.
One More - 2018 - (Silver) Originallythe One More wristband was going to be Perry & Co.s last annualwristband, however since being issued there has been outcry fromour loyal wristband collector friends to continue the tradition.Regardless, this years wristband message is a push to go that extramile. For Realtors the push is to do one more thing that will makeyour year the best it can be, especially against all thecompetition that has entered the Denver real estate market. Forexample, make one more phone call to a client or do one more openhouse. For everyone else, do one more minute, or mile, on thetreadmill. Write one more thank you card to someone you appreciatetoday.
This Moment - 2019 - (Living Coral)The reality is that we live our lives moment to moment often notrecognizing and appreciating that we are experiencing a uniquemoment 1000 times a day. To succeed in the 2019 real estate marketRealtors will need to be conscious of the value that accompaniesevery moment, as well as to be fully prepared to maximize eachmomet that may come their way. Afer deciding to use the PantoneColor of the Year we quickly discovered that Pantone had the samesentiment going into 2019 as we did - Living Coral embraces us with warmth andnourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continuallyshifting environment. In reaction to the onslaught of digitaltechnology and social media increasingly embedding into daily life,we are seeking authentic and immersive experiences that enableconnection and intimacy.
