
Let it snow! As I sit here watching this brilliant sunshine hit the glistening snow, I am thinking of SNOWSHOEING!
Want to snowshoe but don't know where to head? Here are some great trails near Denver for all skill types:
Bear Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park-Views, views, views and an easy to moderate terrain and only 3.6 miles all around.
Middle St Vrain near Peaceful Valley - Phenomenal glacier views make the 16 mile trek worthwhile for novices to intermediate skill levels.
Lost Lake, Nederland Indian Peaks Wilderness - Great for families and those of all skill levels. The scenery is spectacular and it is just an easy 5,5 mile trek.
Brainard Lake near Ward - Stunning views of peaks and lake with many trails for beginners. 5 mile roundtrip.
Silver Dollar Lake near Georgetown - Just another lake surrounded by majestic peaks! Great for beginners and more experienced snowshoers and a short 4 mile trip.
Chasm Falls, Rocky Mtn National Park - This short 4.7 mile trek is great for beginners to intermediate snowshoers and is highlighted by the frozen waterfall.
Mayflower Gulch, Summit County - Bring the whole family to explore the old cabins and mines, this 4.5 mile roundtrip also includes some stunning views.
Lily Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park - Less than 1 mile around the lake makes this the perfect spot for families with young kids.
Mills Lake, Rocky Mtn National Park - This 4 mile round trip via the winter trail allows for stunning views of Longs Peak and the lake. Great for novices to intermediate.
