I first blogged about the fight to stop the widening of I-70 through east Denver earlier this year. At that time, it was a small group of committed individuals trying to raise awareness and bring to light what many perceived as the absolute wrong solution for the future of I-70. Since then, the group has been unbelievably successful at raising awareness and making it a major talking point throughout Denver.
To help raise more awareness and in hopes of being heard, Denver City Auditor, Dennis Gallagher, is having a rally against widening I-70 this Saturday, September 13th at12:00 noon, at the McNichol's Building across from the City & County Building at 144 W. Colfax.
There will be speakers on a number of aspects of the DSEIS [DraftSupplementalEnvironmental Impact Statement], which was released just more than a week ago.Consider bringing a sign showing both youropposition to CDOT's plan andone supporting Dennis, who's stepping-up to protect neighborhoodsand protectingColoradotaxpayers.
