Exciting News from RTD FasTracks: Groundbreaking in Westminster and More

RTD Northwest Rail Line Groundbreaking in Westminster on June 28, 2012

Great news for public transit! RTD officially broke ground on the Northwest Rail Line on June 28, 2012. The groundbreaking took place near 68th & Grove, marking the exciting start of construction toward the new station at 71st & Lowell in Westminster, Colorado.

Three new RTD lines are slated to open in 2016, including: Northwest Rail Line (up to the Westminster 71st & Lowell station), Gold Line (to Arvada) and East Rail Line (to DIA). IF you are thinking about buying property in neighborhoods along these lines, or if you already live in them, you will want to follow what is happening with RTD construction.

Anticipated Colorado Population Growth

Colorado has a population just over 5 million (5,029,126 according the 2010 US Census). The state of Colorado anticipates the addition of 2 million people (bringing the Colorado total population to 7,156,422) by 2030*. I am proud of Colorado for its forward thinking public transit initiatives.
