Denver hosting 'Race To Your Next Place' - Coming May 19th

racelogofinal-media_4001. What's the Race To The Next Place?

We've created this unique event to promote the urban Denver lifestyle! It's a fun, city-wide ˜open house' tour to win a $10,000 cash prize. The winner can use the cash for a down payment, to renovate their kitchen, install a new bathroom, anything they want!

It's not a foot race! It's a FUN game of wit, strategy and skill as you tour open houses in urban Denver. Your $100/team registration fee (just $50/person) all goes to Habitat for Humanity of Colorado!. Participants will drive through Denver's classic neighborhoods, and get a taste of what living in each is like. Teams will race through open houses, Habitat for Humanity projects and other home-related locations of supporting sponsors including Denver area Ace Hardware stores. Registration is now open and 100% of race registration fees up to $25,000 will be awarded to charity partner Habitat for Humanity of Colorado.

The race was created and is presented by LIVE Urban Real Estate, a locally-owned residential real estate brokerage focused on the urban neighborhoods of Denver. The $10,000 prize is sponsored by Guild Mortgage Company's Lakewood office is the leading privately-held direct lender servicing the Western United States. The winner is not required to work with either LIVE Urban or Guild Mortgage in finding or financing their home. Other major sponsors include The Denver Post Community, Ace Hardware, and more than 25 local businesses lending support to the event.

2. What are the details?

The event takes place on May 19, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 250 teams of two, selected in advance, will hunt through Live Urban open houses and other home-related locales to solve challenges, answer questions and attempt to garner the highest number of points to win the grand prize.

Three waves of teams will fan out through unbar Denver for a total of 4 hours of racing time. The day includes pre- and post-race celebrations, featuring sponsor booths, music, entertainment and door prizes. The winner will be announced at approximately 3:30 p.m. after points have been certified and tallied.

Teams will compete to earn as many points as possible, not speed. Strategy will certainly come into play, as racers will have many decision points along the way. How they decide to spend their time may make the difference in whether they win or not.

3. Can anyone enter to win?

Yes! Registration is open to anyone 18 years old or over. We think it will be especially popular with first-time and move-up homebuyers in the Denver area who can use the prize money for a down payment. However, the winner can use the prize for anything they'd like. Registration is $100 per team of two. The first 250 teams that complete the registration process and pay the entry fee will participate. 100% of entry feesup to $25,000will be donated directly to Habitat for Humanity of Colorado. Registration is now open at http://www.RaceNextPlace.com/

4. Where does the Race occur?

Race kicks off at the Tailgate Roadhouse (formerly Braun's, adjacent to the Pepsi Center, 1055 Auraria Parkway). Racers will drive their own cars on the race, and remain within the city limits of Denver, gathering points in open houses, Habitat for Humanity projects and home-related stores and sponsors, such as major race sponsor Ace Hardware.

5. When and how can I register?

Registration is open! Participants can register online at http://RaceNextPlace.com

6. What's the point?

We wanted a fun way to help Habitat for Humanity of Colorado nearly 250,000 Coloradans are living in unsafe or unaffordable housing conditions, and Habitat provides families with a stable and growing base of financial security. It's also a great time to buy a home in Denver, so we want to encourage Denverites to consider the option and get help with a down payment!

In addition, all racers will receive:
A Cool Race T-shirt
A Team Tote bag filled with discounts, coupons and goodies
Pre-Race food, drink and entertainment
Snacks and beverages along the route
Fun Post-Race party with drink tickets, food and drink discounts
Chance to win $10,000 along with other great door prizes!

7. Where can I find more information?
