"Carriage Homes" Happy Hour this Thursday

adu_height_and_set_293

Wondering if youcould add a carriage house to your property? Our next Happy Hour at our Live Urban Real Estate office will explore your options and discuss the new zoning codes that directly impact your decisions. I will be hosting the event on Thursday, March 17th from 5PM 6PMat our offices located at 3627 W. 32nd Avenue. In the course of the hour, we will share a few glasses of wine and have an informal discussion on the new uses of carriage homes.

Not all neighborhoods are zoned for carriage homes (officially referred to as Detached Accessory Dwelling Units) while others with smaller lot sizes are now approved. The new zoning code may change block to block, neighbor to neighbor. To answer these questions, we will go online and check specific properties and neighborhoods. We will also discuss the code requirements in placement, design, and construction.

Carriage homes are no longer just about moving our parents in and parking their Oldsmobile in the driveway. As more of us work remotely from home, a detached carriage home is the perfect office or studio space that is just outside our back door. If you know you will be on the visitation circuit now that you are in Colorado, the guest house takes on new meaning, not to mention sounding like life in Denver is amazing! (Yes of course we would love to see you. You can stay in our guest house!) One of the other advantages is leasing out the unit for additional revenue to offset your mortgage. At Live, we are asked almost daily for referrals of smaller homes and apartment rentals.Whatever your reasons, carriage homes add a great advantage to urban living. It should be an informative hour for all who stop by.

Please join us and extend an invitation to anyone you may know interested in looking for properties in Northwest Denver, South City Park, Platt Park and Whittier as well as other urban neighborhoods. If you have questions in advance or would like me to address a specific topic, please email me at martin@liveurbandenver.com. I will look forward to meeting you and discussing your interest in this re-emerging urban design. Martin Yeager, Broker Assoicate/Realtor.
