On Thursday, February 24th, I am pleased to host a special reception at the Highlands Garden Cafe at 5:30PM to 8:00PM as I present the first in a series of images from my Neighborhoods of Denver collection. As a member of the great team of agents at Live Urban, I appreciate Live's unique focus on our urban neighborhoods. This series of images brings together my love of photography, (my first career many years ago) with my current role as an agent working and living in the Highlands. This first collection highlights Sloan's Lake - just one of the reasons we choose to work and LIVE here.

Real Estate ultimately is about community and neighborhoods. There is a great sense of continuity to this project as the Cafà has always featured the watercolors of my grandmother, all unsigned and all stored away for years. In the 1920's and the 30's, she would walk around her own neighborhood in Evanston, Illinois with two young daughter's in tow, sketching out the world around her. In the evening, these sketches evolved into the watercolors that are at the Cafà now. My own travels through our Denver neighborhoods, includes bringing my camera along and, in the spirit of capturing the character of the neighborhoods, the series of images began to emerge. This collection of photographs appeals to my sense of continuity as I bring in our own neighborhoods into the Cafe to compliment her creative style of some 80 years ago. Sloan's Lake is the perfect canvas and hopefully, these images bring out the best of Denver's effort to keep it a vital part our neighborhood. And, as a look forward, the next series will be on the 100th anniversary of Speer Blvd.
