Elyria-Swansea is a neighborhood in transition. It’s location surrounding the I-70 viaduct replacement project and the National Western complex are game changers, and will change it dramatically in the next decade. Construction is now underway for a planned $1 billion overhaul of the dilapidated stock show complex and the surrounding area, which will add new buildings, grounds, residential units and commercial space. When completed, the area is expected to lure an additional million visitors annually. City officials also said they expect up to 350 new businesses to locate near the center and create as many as 10,000 new jobs.
