5 Socially Distant and Uniquely Denver Activities

This summer may be more low-key than you're used to, but you can still have fun around Denver while practicing social distancing. We live in a beautiful city with plenty of fun, accessible, and nearly free activities that you can do while remaining away from the crowds. These five socially distant activities are totally unique to Denver and are at the top of our 2020 summer bucket list.

5 Socially Distant and Uniquely Denver Activities

1. Walk the 5280 Trail

The 5280 Trail (also called the 5280 Loop) is a 5.280 mile urban route that passes through several of our favorite Denver neighborhoods. Although the project is still in the design phase, with completion of the proposed enrichments within the next decade, you can still walk the loop on your own and intimately experience some of Denver's iconic neighborhoods.

2. Admire the Street Art in Rino

The Rino neighborhood, just north of LoDo, has experienced an explosion of business and culture in the past decade. Its buildings have become more vibrant as well, with local artists adorning the historic brick exteriors with color and brilliance, using their artistry to make statements and spread positivity. Spend a day wandering Walnut Street and Larimer Street north of 25th and make sure to snap a few photos.

3. Conquer the Mile High Stadium Workout

Did you know that the perimeter of Mile High Stadium includes an eleven station workout? Designed by 24 Hour Fitness, this free outdoor gym includes stations that work your upper and lower body with strength and cardiovascular challenges for a complete full body workout. Check out the station map here.

4. Go Stand Up Paddleboarding or Kayaking

One of the best places to admire the front range views is with a paddle in your hand on one of the lakes or reservoirs around Denver. Many of them rent equipment by the hour if you don't have your own, or you can secure a daily rental from Confluence Kayaks.

5. Catch a Colorado Sunset

Colorado is known for its charming sunsets and there are plenty of picturesque spots to enjoy a good sunset in the Denver area. Pack some snacks and beverages and let yourself relax as you watch the sun sink below the foothills from one ofDenver's many parks or your favorite trail.
