Although the content of this entry doesn't pertain directly to living urban in Denver there are many of us that enjoy Denver's proximity to World Class ski snowboarding resorts. We get to have our cake and eat it too, all the amenities a big city provides only 45 minutes from great snow conditions. Time is running out! Most of these deals only last until this Sunday, November 7th so if you haven't already, and you can drum up cash then get your hands on one of these great passes.
For no frills, cut to the chase, skiing and riding, head to Loveland with your midweek pass, for just $249. Although the hot tubs and apres skiing may be lacking the terrain is unique and you'll never get caught on the other side of the tunnel. At just 45 minutes from Denver if you are jones' then this is the quickest way to feed that healthy addiction. Check out www.skiloveland.com for more info.
If all around value is more appealing then the Colorado Pass has the most to offer, unlimited, unrestricted at Keystone, Breckenridge, and A-Basin (which is usually open till June or later), and 10 days at Vail and Beaver Creek AND 5 days at Heavenly and Northstar at Tahoe all for just $479. Hurry because this deal goes away on November 7th from www.snow.com.
Winterpark, Mary Jane and Copper Mountain are carving their own niche with the Rocky Mountain Super Pass at only $429. Information at www.winterparkresorts.com.
Finally for those of you with VERY flexible schedules or, well, no schedules at all consider the Gold pass a steal at $2750 unlimited anywhere in Colorado at anytime. They even have your favorite hot Latte and warm boots waiting at the chair lift for you.
If you think these aren't a good deal shop around, Jackson Hole's season pass is $1570, for one mountain. Bogus Basin, 16 miles from Boise Idaho, which is maybe 2/3 the size of Keystone is $299.
The best part is we can come back home to usually sunny weather in the mid 50's after a day of powder.
