Keep Denver Beautiful is sponsoring an annual cleanup just in time for spring cleaning and clutter removal. Denver residents are invited to participate in The Great Denver Cleanup - Neighborhood Cleanup Day to discard unwanted household items and yard waste from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 28th.
Items that can be dropped off include mattresses, lawnmowers, carpet, bikes, appliances without Freon, BBQ grills (no ashes), toys, swing sets and slides, household and outdoor furniture, scrap metal (collected at all sites by Habitat for Humanity ReStore) and yard debris (yard debris separated from other debris will be composted).
Bring your unwanted items to any of the following free locations:
Cherry Creek Transfer Station - 7301 E. Jewell Ave (Cherry Creek Dr. & Quebec St.)
Lowe's Mercado - 1330 S. Federal Blvd. (S.E. corner of S. Federal Blvd. & Louisiana)
Fred Thomas Park - (S.E. corner of E. 26th Ave. & Quebec St.)
Chambers Rd. & Green Valley Ranch Blvd. (S.E. corner of E. 48th Ave. & Chambers Rd.)
North High School - 2960 N. Speer Blvd. (Eliot St. & W. 32nd Ave.)
The Great Denver Cleanup Sites cannot accept the following:
Tree stumps
Railroad ties
Soil or sod
Demolition debris, auto parts (including tires)
Electronics (computers, monitors, TV's)
Branches over four feet in length or four inches in diameter
Fireplace & BBQ ashes
Construction or building materials
Commercial, industrial or household hazardous waste (oil, paint, batteries, etc.)
The Great Denver Cleanup and the Great American Cleanup are coordinated locally by KEEP DENVER BEAUTIFUL a program of Denver Public Works Solid Waste Management.
