How long will household components last?

How long will the standard household components last? It is a question I get all the time showing homes, especially older homes in Denver. I know a ballpark range for many items like furnaces, hot water heaters and roofs, but some of the less common items I wasn't too sure of so I did a little digging and found a great resource at www.oldhouseweb.com.

To see the full list of household components, click here. These averages are of course based on usage, maintenance and climate, but it should give you a pretty good idea of how long these items are going to last so you can budget for them and decide if that fix up house you are eyeing is really that good of deal. Here are some more common ones you might be interested in.
