Three new restaurants coming to Highland Square

Three exciting new restaurants are coming to Highland Square just in time for summer. It has been weird lately traveling along 32nd through Highland Square and seeing so many great retail spaces sitting empty. Luckily, it sounds like plans are in the works for three new restaurants to open soon which will hopefully bring some new life to the square and will surely be enjoyed by all of us who live and work in the neighborhood.

According to denver.eater.com, Prost Beer and Sausages will open in the old Boa space at 3464 W 32nd Ave.This will be thesecond locationof the beer and sausage mini emporium established in Frisco. It will serve German beers and locally made sausages and will have abeer gardenin the back. If you ever visited Boa you will know it is a great patio out back and I'm sure will stay packed all summer long.

Pizzeria Locale out of Boulder announced recently their second Denver location will be at the old Common Grounds space at 3484 W 32nd Ave.Last May,Pizzeria Locale Denveropened at 550 Broadway as the first fast-casual location. This new concept, created in partnership withChipotle Mexican Grill, offered a simplified menu and a revolutionary custom-designed oven, cooking pizzas in under two minutes.Pizzeria Locale Highland is slated toopen in late 2014.

Finally, Salt & Grinder from famed Denver chef, Frank Bonanno, will open at 3609 W 32nd Ave in the old Venue spot. While not set in stone, the chef plans to servebreakfastfrom 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. including a breakfast burrito, Jersey eggs, and PB&J French toast. For the lunch menu, a variety of classic sandwiches, like the Reuben and Grinder, will be likely served with a Bonanno twist. It will be great to have a custom sandwhich shop back on the square and being only a few doors down from our office I will probably be in trouble.
