What fireworks are legal in Denver this year, 2014? The answer for Denver is surprisingly, none. All fireworks that have to be lit are illegal in Denver county this year. That means no sparklers or even snakes. Police will be out giving tickets for illegal possession and fines can be up to $999 so probably not a risk worth taking this year. Luckily, there are other counties in the metro area that allow fireworks if you need your fireworks fix.
State law says that all fireworks that leave the ground, explode or have sparks in excess of 15 feet are illegal. After calling all the metro area counties, Jefferson, Douglass, Arapahoe, Adams, Boulder and Broomfield, it looks like they have adapted the state law as well. It is still best to check with your local police or fire department for the most up to date restrictions.
