The 6 Essential Denver Farmers' Markets

There is almost nothing like a juicy, sweet peach on a warm summer day! Unless, you're more into a colorful heirloom tomato salad with a bit of farm-fresh chevre. Either way, a Denver Farmers' Market is the place for you.

With Denver homes for sale every which way this time of year, we make it our business to scope out all the top markets around town. Each location sprawls with local vendors and farmers, while maintaining their local neighborhood charm. So, if you're looking to expand your community knowledge, stroll through one of our top picks, and have a nibble along the way.

1. Stapleton Fresh Market

E. 29th Ave. and Roslyn St. |Sundays from 8:30a-12:30p | June 18th until October 15th
The Stapleton Fresh Market earns our top pick because of its picture perfect location and any realtor knows that it's all about location. The Stapleton Market takes place on The Founders Green, with the booths circling the lush grassy heart of this family-friendly neighborhood. This market is well appointed with ample room for children and pets to play or for couples to picnic on their local produce or handmade fare.

2. Union Station Farmers' Market

1701 Wyncoop St. |Saturdays from 9:00a- 2:00p | June 3rd until October 28th
Denver's swanky Union Station, with it's wide open main floor, is the ideal spot for an indoor market especially if Colorado's sun has anything to say about it. Stay in the great, air conditioned indoors for this buffet of prepared food and fresh local farmed produce, meats, and dairy.

3. The Farmers' Market at Highlands Square

32nd Ave and Lowell Blvd. |Sundays from 9:00a-1:00p | June 11th until September 24th
This lively weekly event offers the typical Farmers' Market selections, but adds in a bit more fun with live music and local brews. Conveniently located at Highlands Square, you can snack, dance, and drink your way through the market, then browse the charming local boutiques sprinkled along 32nd Avenue.

4. Old South Pearl Street Farmers' Market

1500 Old South Pearl St. | Sundays from 9:00a-1:00p | May 21st until November 19th
Old South Pearl has that quaint, authentic town feel while being nestled just next to Downtown Denver. Enjoy the family vibe under towering trees and amongst local shops. Fresh baked goods, artisanal cheeses and meats, and (of course) ripe fruits and veggies are at your fingertips at this charming Farmers' Market.

5. City Park Esplanade Fresh Market

E. Colfax Ave. and Columbine St. | Sundays from 9:00a-1:00p | June 4th until October 29th
City Park's gorgeous scenery and central location make this market a must visit during the summer months. Booths encircle the historic Sullivan Fountain, providing fresh produce and prepared snacks. Located just west of Denver's Park Hill neighborhood and next to The Denver Zoo and The Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Fresh Market is the perfect lunch spot during a day visit to these popular Denver attractions. Or, grab a market lemonade mid jog through City Park's sprawling campus.

6. Cherry Creek Fresh Market

E. 1st Ave. and University Blvd. | Saturdays from 9:00a-1:00p | May 6th until October 28th
Get your palisade peaches along with a fresh cup of coffee and locally baked scone at the Cherry Creek Fresh Market this summer. One of the most prominent Denver Farmers' Markets, this one is bustling, lively, and overflowing with shopping selections. The only downside is the lack of tree coverage and the parking lot location, just outside of the Bed, Bath and Beyond. However, you might forget you're strolling through a big parking lot with the live music and alluring aromas.
