Bring Spring In and Give Your Home a Facelift

Spring is the perfect time to do some cleaning around the house, but it can be difficult to get started. After a long, cold winter, you probably do not want to spend any more time indoors than youhave to.

If you plan well, however, spring cleaning does not have to bejust another chore. The following tips can help you get your springcleaning done in record time. Once the job is done, you can enjoymore time in the great outdoors.

Before you get to work, turn up the tunes. Its rumored Spotifyhas their own spring cleaning channel or pick your favorite Pandorastation or audiobook. Now that you are listening to your favoritemusic or novel you are ready to tackle your spring cleaning:

Give yourself some monetary inspiration - Startby going through your home in search of things you no longer need.If it is in good shape, you can list it on eBay or Craigslist andmake some extra cash. Or, consider a yard sale and make some extramoney. Not concerned about making an extra dollar, consider adonation to your favorite charity.

Let the kids help - You do not have to go italone; enlist the help of your kids to make spring cleaning easierand less stressful. Come up with a list of spring cleaning chores, from weeding the garden to cleaning out the closets, and assign adollar value to each one. Dont worry if you dont have kids or kidsnot living at home. Consider hiring help to clean, wash windows andhelp with the yard clean up.

Go shopping in the freezer - Spring cleaningthe freezer is a great way to save money and avoid waste. Start bytaking everything out of your refrigerator and freezer, groupingfoods as you go. Take an inventory of what you find, throwing outexpired items as you go. Then use the remaining items to plan yourmeals for the next few weeks. You will not have to spend your timeor money at the grocery store until your freezer is cleanedout.

Take the hassle out of kitchen cleaning- Makecleaning your sink easier by filling it with warm water and addinga cup of baking soda. The baking soda will clean away the greaseand grime while you finish the rest of your spring cleaning.

Let the sunshine in - Clean your windowswithout harsh chemicals with just vinegar and water. Fill a bucketwith warm water and add two cups of vinegar, then clean the windowsuntil they sparkle. Dry each window with a squeegee for astreak-free finish.

Reclaim your garage - If your car spent thewinter outdoors, take the time to reclaim that wasted space. Gothrough everything in the garage and sort what you find into the"keep" and "not keep" piles. You can make someextra cash by selling your castoffs at the local flea market orperhaps donating them to your favorite charity.

Get ready for summer heat - Spring is theperfect time to make sure your air conditioner is in tip-top shape.Changing the filters, blowing out the dust and cleaning the unitnow can help you keep your cool when the dog days of summerarrive.

When the cleaning is done and everything is checked off thelist. Dont forget to kick up your feet and let the spring andsunshine in.
