Q&A with Kayla Pope
What neighborhood do you live in?
I live in the Overlook neighborhood in Severance, Colorado.
What does "Be Home" mean to you?
"Be home" in real estate goes beyond just finding a property; it's about creating a space where everyone feels welcome, valued, and empowered to own a piece of their own future. Homeownership is a cornerstone of stability and personal growth, yet it’s often a dream that feels out of reach for many. By prioritizing inclusivity, the real estate industry can help bridge that gap, ensuring that people from all walks of life have access to opportunities to own their homes. Whether through affordable housing options, support for first-time buyers, or financial education, the goal is to make homeownership a reality for anyone who wants it. When we say "be home," we mean fostering a sense of belonging and security, and working to make sure that everyone can experience the pride and joy that come with having a place to call their own.
How do you "Live Who You Are"?
" Live who you are" is a powerful reminder to embrace your true self without fear of judgment or the pressure to conform. Living authentically means acknowledging and accepting your unique qualities, strengths, and imperfections. It's about shedding the layers of expectation others place on you and instead, confidently expressing your values, passions, and personality. When you're true to yourself, you find a deeper sense of peace and fulfillment, because you’re not constantly trying to live up to external ideals or fit into molds that don’t align with who you really are. Authenticity allows you to cultivate meaningful relationships, make choices that reflect your core beliefs, and live a life that feels genuine and whole. It’s a journey of self-discovery, and though it might be challenging at times, it leads to the kind of freedom that can only come from embracing the real you.
What music is currently on your playlist?
My playlist is a mix of timeless country classics and modern hits. It features iconic tracks like Johnny Cash' Ring of Fire and Dolly Parton’s Jolene, which capture the heart of traditional country. Then, I blend in modern favorites like Luke Combs’ Where the Wild Things Are and Jordan Davis' What my World Spins Around.
What local causes get your time and/or money?
I dedicate my time and resources to a couple of causes that are close to my heart. One of them is volunteering at my kids’ schools, where I help with events, classroom activities, and support the teachers in any way I can. It’s important to me to be actively involved in their education and contribute to creating a positive environment for all the students. I also support the Rocky Mountain Warrior Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to helping veterans and their families. They provide resources for mental health, financial assistance, and community support, which makes a real difference in the lives of those who’ve served. Both of these causes are meaningful to me because they impact my community directly, whether it’s helping kids succeed or honoring the sacrifices of our veterans.
Give it up. What local restaurant is your best kept secret?
Two of the best-kept restaurant secrets around are Don Juan’s Mexican Food and Oregano’s Italian. Don Juan’s in LaSalle offers an authentic, no-frills experience with some of the best Mexican food in town. Their fajitas and burritos are local favorites, bursting with flavor and freshness, and the cozy atmosphere makes you feel like you're dining at a friend’s house. On the Italian side, Oregano’s is a hidden gem serving up hearty, delicious dishes with a fun, laid-back vibe. Their pastas are rich and flavorful. Both spots might not always be in the spotlight, but once you know about them, they’re places you’ll keep coming back to.
