
Happy Colorado Day everyone! Today marks the 138th anniversary of Colorado becoming a state. I know it's not quite like the 4th of July, but seems like a good enough reason to celebrate all the best of Colorado and Denver. First Friday Art Walk - It is going to be an amazing Colorado night. Head out to join your neighbors and see the best art Denver has to offer.
History Colorado Museum -Happy birthday, Colorado! Celebrate the Centennial State's 138th birthday with local food and live entertainment. This two-day event features American Indian dance by Seven Falls Dancers, state songs performed by the Arvada Chorale, and a farmer's market offering locally-sourced jams, baked goods, and produce. Learn more about our state's rich history with free admission to the Byers-Evans House Museum built in 1883. Fri-Sat 10 a.m.
Denver County Fair - All day August 1st to 3rd.Enjoy all the traditional fair fun, but with an added Denver twist. This year's fair offers everything from the standard blue ribbon contests and carts of deep-fried food to watching the Air Hockey World Championships, art lessons for the kids, and even a "pot pavilion." With more than 15 themed stalls, even those without an interest in livestock or pie will find something to entertain them. Fri noon-9 p.m., Sat 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Sun 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
The Color Run -Break out your sneakers and your whitest T-shirt for the annual color run, a noncompetitive 5K where participants are blasted with paint at every kilometer. This year's event begins at Coors Field and winds through the RiNO District. Come out looking good and feeling great; the Color Run is partnering with the Children's Hospital of Colorado for this year's event. Sat 8 a.m.
