The 8th annual Denver Chalk Art Festival on Larimer Square is just a week away! The FREE two-day street-painting festival will feature 200 artists who will spend hours that weekend turning the streets of Larimer Square into a museum of chalk art.
June 5, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
June 6, Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
In addition to amazing chalk art from 200 artists, the festival features all kinds of event excitement throughout the weekend.
* Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design Youth Challenge: Colorado high schools and youth groups will compete for cash prizes that will go to their respective school's visual arts departments.
* Mike's Camera Capture the Color Contest: Mike's Camera presents YOUR opportunity to be an artist for the weekend with their photo contest. Bring your own camera or rent one for free from the Mike's Camera booth to capture the color at the Denver Chalk Art Festival. The winning photographer will receive two Southwest Airlines tickets and a new Olympus camera!
* Wine Tour: Denver Chalk Art Festival will be serving more than a dozen varietals for wines from around the world. Wines can be purchased by the glass, by the bottle, or through our popular Wine Tour for $15. Blue Moon, Coors and Pepsi products will also be available.
* Kids Corner: Children and their parents can take part in this festival be letting their imaginations soar, creating their own mini masterpieces. Kids Corner donations go to the Larimer Arts Association.
* Live Music: The festival will feature live music throughout the weekend provided by the Denver Theatre District.
* Festival Treats: Visit any or all of the five booths selling a variety of yummy items, including Italian Sausage, gourmet hot dogs, kettle corn, gelato and Italian ice!
* Shop-About: New this year! Denver Chalk Art Festival will have an area of vendors who will be selling a variety of fun items, plus airbrush tattoos for kids of all ages!
